CELLOPHANE
What fascinates me are the surfaces which hide something unpredictable, of bright red, of colour. In some of my works, like the series of Cellophane, you can intuit the attempt to see what is beneath the surface, and you discover that there is still something to discover but that it remains unknown, as though wanting to leave space for the spectactor to make his own interpretation, as a kind of incomplete work which the spectactor could complete with his own imagination.
HAPPINESS
In this series of works of colour, happiness, life seems to have the upper hand for a moment on the aesthetics of the board. You can see how the colour tries to break the board, to emerge from the claustrophopic wrapping of the resin.
FOOD
In the Food series I enjoyed representing the sense of taste in an aesthetic and not very functional manner. Nobody would think about a technological cake, but the taste is solicitated through a purely aesthetic canal. I have represented a kind of imaginary psychedelic where the aesthetic dominates reality and in this case, taste.
OPERATIONS
Through this first series of works on Mother Boards I tried to give an answer to life, portraying it in full relief, and finding in all its aspects grace and beauty: black and colours, life and death, illness and healing. Life, colours and blood seem to pulse behind the coldness of the mother boards as though wanting to draw a world where technology and biological life can communicate. In some works of the series of Operations one can see the colour which tries to make the wounds better and, as I said before, life enters, more than ever alive in illness, in death, the colours try to cover the blood.
ISTOLOGICAL TISSUES
As in the series of Operations, I wanted to represent the border between life and death, between the coldness of the mother board and the colour of the istological tissues in an unsuitable balance where one has the upper hand over the other.
KISSES
Here I wanted to make the animation of Japanese comics interact, the fantasy with the cold static of the mother board. The harmony of the dream leaves space to uneasiness and both become ingredients of inseparable life.
